he Scottish Violence Reduction Unit are not financially supporting The Moira Run 2023. This means that all running and organisation costs this year
will be met by the charity.
Our team have been working really hard to keep these costs as low as possible and we have already secured some donations. The Moira Fund is extremely grateful for these and would
love to hear from anyone else who can help in any way.
It is anticipated that this may well be the last Moira’s Run in Queens Park, Glasgow and we may have to consider moving to a virtual event only next year.
Moira’s Run has been hugely popular with the people of Glasgow, and it’s also been extensively supported by those travelling from afar. We have so appreciated that and we don’t want it to be any different because this, our tribute to Moira, has meant so much to so many - the local Southside community, those families who have lost a loved one through murder, the hundreds participating, our many supporters, and to each and every one of us
at The Moira Fund.
And so, we appeal to you all, to please support the 2023 Run, please come together to make this the best run yet.
There will be, as usual, an option to enter on the day, but please enter online in advance if possible. This will really help us prepare, and make things run more smoothly for you all on
that special day.
Please come out in your numbers and support us. We promise you the usual high standard of event, and will be delighted to see you all on the 29th October this year!
Another busy stall at this year's fete with the sun shining, a great turn out and a team of willing helpers.
£350+raised. A great big thank you to them all.
At The Moira Fund, we’re acutely aware that for many victims’ families, the summer holidays can be an especially difficult time—often without the opportunity for a much-needed break.
Do you fancy an all-inclusive week for two in lovely Gran Canaria in 2026? It could be yours! This is the wonderful prize in this year’s TUI Holiday Prize Draw. Tickets £2 each, a book of 5 for £10.
It is with very mixed feelings that we have to say goodbye to Dianne and John Leslie, two of our long-time Trustees, Moira's very dear friends, and all-time magnificent supporters of Moira's charity.

Hu died suddenly on 16th April aged 85. He was a devoted husband of Bea, a loving father to Grant and the late Moira, and father-in-law to Sharon and a full member of the wider family both north and south of the border.
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of Hu Jones, devoted husband of our co-founder and chair, Bea, and beloved father of Moira and Grant.
Every one of Moira's Runs, all ten so far, has been a wonderful success and it's hard to find new words but I do have to say that this one, the eleventh, seemed even better than ever.
We are delighted to announce that thanks to John, Barry and Dianne, this year's annual Golf Day at Dullater Golf Course will take place on 31st August.
