The Moira Fund Ladies Lunch Sunday 8th October tickets now on sale....
The Moira Fund, a grant making charity, has been established in memory of Moira Jones, who was murdered in Queens Park, Glasgow, in May 2008.
Following her death, family, friends and colleagues of Moira wished to establish a fund in her memory that would support others who found themselves bereaved through violent death at the hands of another.
We are a grant making charity setup to help those traumatically bereaved by the murder or manslaughter of a loved one.

The value of grants awarded to families

When 88-year old widow, M... lost her daughter to violence, she asked for little. She wanted a little cherry tree in her daughter's name, one which all her family and grandchildren could visit, one which she could tend and watch flower and grow from her window. That wish was soon granted.

Soon after the devastating death of his son, G and his partner, the stepmum, separated and G moved into an empty flat. He was sleeping on the floor and struggling to cope.. We were pleased we could provide a bed and bedding to help him on his with his very difficult journey.

When P,s partner was murdered he was buried where his parents were, a far distance from home. We paid for travel and accommodation for P and their 3 children to visit his grave for the first time on the anniversary of his death. This meant a huge lot to them.
