Grant has done it! Arrived at Cape Wrath morning of Tuesday 28th! Hasn’t he done well?

Grant Jones managed to complete his 200mile Cape Wrath wilderness walk in 17days. Grant knew that the trek was going to be a tough one and had been planning and training accordingly. There was a lot more water on the ground than anticipated and mile after mile of bog soon led to trench foot. The scenery was absolutely stunning and the landscapes ever changing. The Cape Wrath Trail takes in some of the most remote parts of the UK and few other people were encountered in the hills adding to Grant’s wilderness experience.

Grant was helped along by clouds of hungry midges and clegs,a type of horse fly that injects a vile liquid and has the ability to bite through clothing. These insects meant that stopping for more than a few seconds was a painful experience so even when his feet were extremely sore the little guys kept Grant going. Grant was also kept going by the support and generosity of people before and during his trip. Other high lights included falling into bogs and crossing rivers in spate(a bit scary). Grant completed his walk solo and without back-up.
