Moira's Run 2016

The sun shone on Queen’s Park and Moira’s Run 2016 was a fantastic success…

About 300 runners [ maybe a few walkers] had come from near and far to take part including our wonderful Patron, Dame Elish Angiolini, who with her husband, Dom, drove up from Oxford for the event.

Thanks to the Violence Reduction Unit of Police Scotland and many  willing volunteers everything went like clockwork and there was that amazing sense of warmth and support and camaraderie which always comes along with the crowd in Glasgow. So lovely!

Refreshments were provided by Braveheart Industries at the Wellcroft Bowling Club where we had our prize-giving after the run.

The 1st Prize men went to Jack Heathwood and 1st  Prize ladies to Fiona Ramsay. Congratulations to them both and to Richard Cooper for his very special award acknowledging his amazing ongoing ‘Running for Moira’ since 1st January which has entailed over 90 races and will mean 1000K run.

The proceeds from the day will well exceed £6000, a really wonderful amount of money which will allow us to help many more families struggling to cope in the aftermath of the murder of a loved one.

A very sincere thankyou to all who took part and to all who contributed in any way to Moira’s Run 2016.
