In July 2010, The Moira Fund made two substantial grants to SAMM [Support after Murder and Manslaughter] and P.E.T.A.L. [People Experiencing Trauma and Loss].  These grants will enable around 25 bereaved victims to attend weekend retreats with specialist support staff and therapists.

A previous grant was made to pay for the services of therapists at a retreat for a similar number of people and another continues to pay for transport costs to enable victims to access specialist counselling not available in their own locality.

The Fund continues to respond positively to requests for financial help on behalf of the families of victims.
