Walking for Moira
On Sunday 7 June a “Walk for Peace” in memory of Moira took place in Queen’s Park, Glasgow. This was organized by the local community and about 100 people attended, family, friends, local councillors and MPs, representatives of Victim Support and many from the community. All walked slowly round the park to the area where a tree was planted in Moira’s memory last June. Moira’s mum recited her poem, ‘Moira’s Orchard’, written for the event, and Babs McGregor, a Lewis lassie, sang a haunting Gaelic lament.
On Sunday 7 June a “Walk for Moira” took place in Ventura, California. This was organized by Scottish/American family members and their friends. Across the miles we were united in spirit. A collection was made and their generous donations are winging their way to The Moira Fund.
